Filing life insurance claims

7 min read

Most life insurance claims pay within 30 days of submitting a complete claim packet.

You need: a certified death certificate, the policy number (or insurer name), and the named beneficiary's identification.

Call the insurer's claims line. They will send a claim form or provide an online portal.

Submit the form, death certificate, and beneficiary verification. Keep copies of everything.

If the insurer requests an autopsy report, additional medical records, or contests the claim, contact a Final Wishes Concierge — most contested claims are resolvable.
